St Tudy Village
St Tudy is a beautiful Cornish village nestling between Bodmin Moor and the north Cornwall coast. This picturesque, unspoilt village has Conservation Area status. St Tudy is a very friendly village, with a pub, a good shop and post office, and a beautiful church.
The village lies in lovely rolling Cornish countryside, the North Cornwall coast is close by with magnificent sandy beaches, such as Trebarwith Strand, Polzeath, Rock and Daymer Bay and pretty fishing villages such as Port Isaac, Padstow, Port Quin and Boscastle. Enjoy wonderful walks along the coast, the Camel estuary, Bodmin moor (all Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and a host of attractions and things to do in the area.

Quince Cottage
Quince Cottage dates from the C18 and is built in the traditional Cornish style with thick walls painted white, sash windows and a slate roof. Situated in the heart of the village close to the church, the pub and very well equipped village shop/post office. The cottage is simply and comfortably furnished. It is detached with its own garden. There is a parking space for one car beside the kitchen door and additional parking on the lane beside the cottage.

Accommodation
Quince Cottage has an open-plan dining and sitting room with a cosy fireplace; the kitchen adjoins and leads off the dining room. The cottage has oil-fired central heating, TV, DVD and CD players, electric cooker, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, food processor and china, glasses and cutlery for at least 10 people. There are three bedrooms, 1 double, two twin bedrooms and a bathroom. Garden furniture, garden loungers and a barbeque are also provided. The cottage sleeps 6 people.
Duvets and pillows are supplied, but not bed linen or towels (unless by special arrangement)

Terms & Conditions
Quince cottage is offered at a reasonable rent on the condition that it is left clean and tidy and in good order when you leave.
Booking arrangements
A booking is secured by email confirmation with full contact details and a 25% deposit; the balance of the fee is due 6 weeks in advance of the rental. If the booking is last minute, the full rental must be paid and cleared before arrival. In the event of a cancellation, please be aware the booking deposit is not refundable (so we advise you to arrange your own holiday insurance), however we will endeavour to re-let your booking and return your full deposit less a £25 handling fee.
Refundable deposit
In addition to the rental, a refundable deposit (25% of the full rental fee) is also required. This deposit is fully refunded to you within 10 days of your stay, if the cottage is left in good order and without breakages.
Pets
A well-behaved pet is welcome by arrangement at £30 per week.
Changeover days / Departure
Rentals usually begin on a Friday (or Saturday by arrangement) with arrival from 3pm. On the agreed day of departure we ask you to leave by 10am. |

By virtue of its wonderful location, there is a wealth of things to do in the area, all year round:
- Lazy days on the beach
- Surfing - Polzeath & Trebarwith (boards & wet suits for hire at both beaches).
- Bathing/swimming, kakaking (Port Quin), sailing & windsurfing (Rock & Daymer Bay),
- Golf (3 local courses with lovely views); tennis, (St Kew & Bodmin), horseriding
- Bicycles for hire in Padstow, Wadebridge & Bodmin for cycling along the Camel Trail (along the Camel estuary)
- Eden Project (16 miles), Lost Gardens of Heligan (23 miles), Trelissick (nr Truro) and gardens at Lanhydrock, Pencarrow etc.
- Unusual outings eg Ferry to Padstow; Bodmin & Wenford Railway Steam Train; Camel Vineyard with wine tasting.
- Huge range of walks - most spectacular are along the Coastal footpath, but also on Bodmin moor and in the lovely rolling countryside around the village
- Extensive range of activities and visits for children; including several wildlife centres.
- Many interesting places to visit; eg Tintagel Castle – on a promontory above the sea; Padstow – Pretty fishing harbour. (inc Rick Stein, shops,) travel there by ferry from Rock or by bicycle from Wadebridge; Port Isaac & Boscastle - charming fishing villages; Lostwithiel – beautiful little town with fascinating history (was the old capital of Cornwall). Grand Houses open to the public: Lanhydrock – nr Bodmin; Pencarrow (5 miles); Prideaux Place (Padstow) & many more.
- Local towns of Wadebridge & Bodmin have charm & offer good shopping & amenities.
- Excellent food in many delightful local pubs & restaurants.
- Rick Stein’s restaurants in Padstow and Jamie Oliver’s “Fifteen” near Newquay.
- Attractions further a field include: St Ives (& Tate Gallery); Minack Open Air Theatre at Lands End (dramatic & wonderful on a summer evening); St Michael’s Mount – south of St Ives; Fowey & the south coast (about 50 mins).

Directions
By Car - Driving westwards on the A30
Leave the A30 approx 3 miles after Launceston and join the A395. Travel along the A395 for 10 miles to T junction with A39 (the Atlantic Highway). Turn left here onto A39, following signs to Wadebridge. Travel through the small town of Camelford (about 3 miles) and about a mile beyond it, (just by a petrol station) turn left onto B3266 (signed to Bodmin). After about 5 miles turn right at signpost to St. Tudy (this turning is immediately opposite the entrance to Hengar Manor). Proceed to centre of the village, bearing right at the first junction; and follow the road around a right angle bend. About 100yds after this bend there is a small cross roads – take the left turning which leads to the pub: the Cornish Arms, drive slightly beyond the pub hugging the bank of land on the right; this will lead you to Quince Cottage which is opposite the St Tudy shop/post office.
By rail and plane
There is a railway station (Bodmin Parkway) about 20 mins drive from St Tudy & an airport at Newquay (approx 40 mins).
